Daydream
Written
and directed by Christine Molly and Joe Lawlor (desperate optimists)
This specially commissioned
film for Made In Liverpool 06 is a highly poetic and meditative
work tracing the connection between a city during a moment of great change
and how this moment can be reflected in the emotional world of its citizens.
It is shot in 10 scenes across the city, involving 150 people from Liverpool
who kindly contributed to the making of the film. Daydream
reveals in all its glory, desperate optimists' characteristically long and
daring single takes in 35mm cinemascope.
Daydream was commissioned by the Liverpool
Culture Company in partnership with
Liverpool Biennial. Funded by the Liverpool
Culture Company, as part of the Creative
Communities Programme, supported with lottery money from the Millennium Commission
and Arts Council England through the Urban Cultural Programme.
